About this course
Digital Desk: Operations Digital Information Management is an online self-learning course which will provide you with a full understanding on how to manage digital information in OCB, how to identify the different types of files, documents and other records, and how to use guidelines, tools and digital platforms.
It has been ideated by the Operations IKM (Information and Knowledge management) unit. This is mandatory only for Mission and RST/Cell Teams owners but recommended for field and RST/Cell staff as well as HQ staff needing access to operational information.
It will introduce you to Information and knowledge management, the benefits, platforms and roles. You’ll be able to navigate and use the new Teams solution for the field and the OPS department, add, find, co-edit and share files into it.
An extra module is available for Mission and RST-Cell Teams Owners and Admin to learn how to manage permissions in the Mission and RST-Cell workspaces, add new users to the correct permission group, change document or folder access permanently, etc.
Target audience
Although mandatory for Mission and RST/Cell Digital Desk owners, it is highly recommended for field and RST/Cell staff, as well as HQ staff with a computer requiring access to operational information and Digital Desk.
This course is also open to HQ staff, who need regular access to operational information.

Learning objectives
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe what IKM is (records, knowledge, etc.) and its benefits
- Choose which MSF platform or tools to use according to the scope/needs and the phase of the document lifecycle
- Manage information (create, share, co-edit, save, publish, archive, destroy/retain) according to document lifecycle and to the folder and permissions structure designed
- Navigate in the new Teams solution for the field or the OPS department
- Add, find, co-edit and share files in Teams/SharePoint
For Mission RST/Cell Owners and Admins:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of Owners and Admins
- Add new users to the correct permission group
- Change document or folder access permanently
