ICT Infrastructure (OCG)

About the course

ICT Infrastructure covers the different elements of an ICT infrastructure and presents the tools needed to design and plan it. In the final test the participants are requested to design the ICT Infrastructure of their missions.

An optional chapter is added and is dedicated to VSAT: resources provided by Marlink about ITC Portal and incident management are available in this chapter.

Target audience

OCG ICT Field Staff.

This course is validated by OCG. 

Duration

3 hours. 

Learning objective

At the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Design an ICT infrastructure topology using Visio 
  • Use Hamina
  • Use UISP Design Center Simulator
  • Identify the components of the VSAT

Mobile Device Management (OCG)

About this course

Mobile Device Management aims at introducing to OCG ICT Field staff the tools used in MSF OCG for mobile device management. In particular it will focus on the current policies for smartphones, and on the procedures to enrol smartphones in Intune.

Target audience

This course is only for OCG ICT Field Staff and Logs in charge of IT and it is part of their onboarding. 

Validation

This course is validated by OCG. 

Duration 

1.5 hours

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, trainees will be able to: 

  • identify compatibility issues (Intune) 
  • enrol phones (Intune) 
  • identify the needed setup of the phone to be security compliant and to allow the conditional access (MFA) 
  • response to users’ questions and requests about issues after enrolment

MSF Applications (OCG)

About this course

MSF Applications aims at providing participants with an overview on the main MSF applications and on the technical support needed for them.

In particular the course will focus on UniField and Medical apps, in order to prepare ICT field staff on the tasks and procedures needed to install, update, and troubleshoot these applications.

Target audience

MSF Applications is only for OCG ICT Officers and Logs in charge of IT.

This course is validated by OCG. 

Duration

1 hour

Learning objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify roles and responsibilities related to the main MSF applications
  • Explain the installation, configuration and maintenance processes for the applications, the servers or other tools used
  • Identify the possible issues and/or address the troubleshooting request to the relevant people

Focus UniField: 

  • Introduction
  • Back-up: monitoring

Windows Server 2019 crash course

About the Course

This course is an introduction to Windows Server 2019. 

This is a pre-requisite for OCG's “FiWi” course (included and mandatory in the FiWi course's frame).

Target audience

Everyone, (but targeted at MSF staff dealing with ICT (IS Officers, Logisticians, etc.)).

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course learners will be able to explain the following concepts of Windows Server 2019:

  • How to install Microsoft Windows Server 2019, Windows domain, domain controller, Active Directory
  • The organization of objects (users, organizational units, user groups, computers, and printers) using Active Directory
  • Group Policy (GPO)
  • Remote Server Access

About the Course

The goal of this curriculum is to level up every IS Officer/Supervisor before the migration to FiWi.

In order to connect the dots and see how everything works together in the kit, training session/round table discussions will be also organized. This course is a pre-requisite to those F2F sessions.
