This MSF OCB Course covers the essential aspects of the field budget tool WeFin and its role in budget management. The course equips participants with the necessary skills to initiate and utilize WeFin effectively while understanding the core essentials of budget management.

MSF OCB field staff who are required to use WeFin e.g., Project Managers (HR, Log, Supply, PMR, Finance) and Project Coordinators, Team Leaders and/or Coordinators (HR, Log, Supply, Med, Finance) and HoMs.

Methodology
Self-paced learning. Includes interactive eLearning activities, knowledge check quizzes and WeFin demonstration.

Participants need to complete the eLearning activities which include knowledge checks.

Participants will receive a digital badge, upon completion of the WeFin Introduction and the WeFin Demo modules.
A certificate will be made available on completion of all modules including the two modules under development.

About the course
FMC is a tutored online course designed for MSF OCB Project Finance Managers, focusing on enhancing your financial management skills through a combination of interactive online sessions with the tutors and supplementary self-learning activities.
All sessions and materials are presented in English.
Target audience
HR/Finance, Finance/Supply and Finance Managers with 3 up to 9 months of experience in their position.
Validation
This course is validated by OCB.
Duration
The learning program will require 16 hours of your time and comprises 10 online sessions on MS Teams with the tutors over a span of 6 days.
The average commitment is 3 hours per day.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of the course, participants will have developed the skills and knowledge necessary to manage project finances effectively and contribute to MSF OCB financial sustainability.

The course comprises a kick-off session and 4 modules, covering the following topics:
- Procurement and validation processes.
- Ensuring accounting quality and facilitating a seamless monthly closing in your project.
- Purchase-to-payment process within MSF Accounting Software (UniField).
- Budget follow-up processes.
- Internal controls and corruption prevention.
Methodology
During this course, participants will have access to a variety of learning materials, including videos, case studies, reading materials and practical exercises.
They will also need to complete tests and evaluations to check their understanding of the course content.
Participants will attend scheduled online sessions led by tutors from the Finance Department. These sessions will allow for interactive discussions, guidance on assignments, and personalized feedback to improve learning outcomes.
Certification
A certificate of completion and the badge will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the course by attending at least 90% of online sessions and submitting all the required assignments.
Requirements/Prerequisites
- Minimum 3 months of working in the Finance Manager position (FIN/HR, FIN/Supply).
- Completion of Finance Onboarding.
- Completion of UniField 1-on-1 full training.
- Completion of Anti-Corruption self-learning course (Tembo).
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth within finance roles.
- Recommendations from FinCo and DA/HRCo.
- Reliable Internet connection.
- Full availability during training hours.
Enrolment
The course is designed for OCB Finance Managers with 3 to 9 months of experience in their position. It is held twice a year. Eligible individuals should contact their FinCo and HRCO/HRDev, and complete the application form once the training announcement is shared with the mission by learning-ocb@brussels.msf.org. The course will be offered next in December 2024. Access to this course is limited to participants who have applied and been selected by MSF OCB to participate in the programme.

This Finance Onboarding course is exclusively designed for first-time Finance Managers, FIN/HR Managers, or FIN/Supply Managers at MSF OCB who are enrolled in the Induction/Onboarding program. Please note that applicants who do not meet this profile will not be eligible for enrolment.
Target audience
This course is mandatory for you if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are a first-time Project Finance Manager, FIN/HR Manager, or FIN/Supply Manager.
- You are working with MSF OCB.
- You are enrolled in the MSF OCB Induction/Onboarding program.
If you do not meet these criteria, this course is not intended for you.
