OPD Module 1: Introduction to general aspects - Part A

About the course

This Module is part of the Outpatient Care Programme organised in 9 Modules.

This is the first of a series of modules which will walk you through important concepts to apply when carrying out a primary healthcare consultation.  In this first part of the Introduction there will be a little reminder on anatomy, physiology and patient assessment. Remembering the structure and how the body works is very important for the clinical reasoning process. 

You will work as a “detective”, interpreting all the “clues” and finding a diagnosis for the patient!  

These are the learning outcomes of this Module Intro A:  

  • Refresher on basics of anatomy and physiology of main human systems. 
  • Assemble the different steps for Information Gathering.   
  • Use a logical process to break down information and work through it to reach the diagnosis.  

Content

This Module is organised in three Units followed by an Evaluation activity. The units are composed of different participative activities (quizzes, matching questions, open questions and others). They are divided as follows: 

  • Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology 
  • Unit 2: Patient Assessment 
  • Unit 3: Clinical Reasoning
  • Evaluation
