Logistic coordinator training: FORELOG (OCP)
About the course

The FORELOG is an essential training program for the development of generalist logisticians at MSF.  

We have created a new ForeLog for our Logistic Coordinators, which is:  

  • More operational  

  • More transversal  

  • More related to the fundamentals of what it means to be a LogCo  

  • A logical learning path  

  • An intersectional training

Target audience

Log Coordinators, Deputy Log Co and other identified profiles in the process of becoming Log Co 

Duration

3 months

This training is a path composed of 3 main steps:  

  • an autoassessment (1h) 

  • An online component of 4 phases. The online sessions are every week for 11 weeks : each week, plan for 4 hours : 2 hours to do the online tasks either alone or in groups, and 2 hours for the virtual classroom 

  • A face-to-face part of 6 days

Learning objectives

This training responds to one of the strategic objectives for the Logistics Department : To re-enforce the role of logisticians so that they are able to co-construct operational projects that take into account both the environment and the context 

List of contents

You’ll follow 4 phases : 

  • Phase A:  We'll be looking at your roles and responsibilities so that you can find your place at the heart of the mission  
  • Phase B: Next, we'll examine the environment of a mission, by looking at different contexts, and see how to evaluate and analyse them 
  • Phase C: Then, we'll focus on how to assemble operations (both medical and nonmedical). We'll demonstrate the importance of understanding operations in the context of logistics and supply management 
  • Phase D: Finally, we'll present the means, the tools and the teams that you'll need, as well as how to mobilise and organise them

Methodology

This is a blended course with an online and a face to face part. It is compulsory to attend a minimum of 80% of the online part of the course to be able to do the face to face part in Bordeaux
Certification
At the end of the course ( online and presential part )  the participants will receive a certificate”
