About the course
Covers principles, standard procedures, and protocols for radio/satellite/phone equipment setup and maintenance to ensure uninterrupted voice communications.
This training is part of the LTT program. It can also be taken as an individual course without doing the entire LTT program.
Target audience
Activity Managers (Log & Supply Chain Managers, Log Team Leaders…) and Supervisors & Specialists (Log Specialists, Log & Supply Chain Supervisors…)
Pre-requisites
- Minimum English-speaking level: B1 or fluent in French (read, written, spoken).
- Participants in between missions will be expected to be fully available during training hours.
- If a participant's mission ends during the course, they are expected to continue the training from home.
- Participants should have internet access, a computer, a calm environment, and a personal email (non-MSF).
General objective
The main objective of this training is to make logisticians understand how to set up and maintain telecommunication equipment according to OCBA procedures, provide support to field users and assess a given telecom equipment.
Learning objectives
- Define the different systems of communication used in MSF.
- List the difference between the different systems of telecommunication.
- Recognize the importance of continuous investment in cybersecurity and security technology.
- Define the elements needed to install a VHF and HF radio station.
