About the Course

This self-paced course by OCBA will introduce you to how field logisticians can apply security, as well as understand and actively participate in the Risk Analysis, in order to develop adequate mitigation measures in areas like Communication, Movements, Site Protection and Workplace Safety. It is aimed at all logistic profiles in supervisor or activity management positions with MSF work experience of at least six months.


OBJECTIVES 

At the end of each module you will be able to: 

Introduction

  • Describe MSFs primary security strategy  

  • Identify the different steps of the MSF risk management process

  • Compare the roles and responsibilities of logistics and line management

Risk Analysis 

  • Memorize and illustrate the ​Risk Analysis methodology   

  • Interpret threats and vulnerabilities in detail 

  • Relate adequate mitigation measures 

  • Summarize the security role of logistics 

Communication 

  • Complete a project communications set-up according to its operational needs 

  • Interpret communication procedures and rules  

  • Identify different communications protocols 

Movements 

  • Relate security management to vehicle movements 

  • Summarize challenges of movement planning and follow-up 

  • Summarize adequate movement protocols as per context and movement type 

Site protection 

  • Compare different sites according to the needs of the project 

  • Relate protection measures to the context and given threats 

  • Complete site protection with active measures 


Contingency 

  • Recognize different contingency plans 

  • Summarize the role of logistics in preparing evacuation 

  • Interpret the role of logistics in preparing hibernation 

METHODOLOGY 

This is an autonomous and always open online course. It is recommended to follow the course from the beginning, starting with the introduction. But the different modules can be chosen as well as single activity, without completing the whole course. 

COMMITMENT 

The time needed to accomplish the course is 50 hours. 

TARGET 

The targeted profiles for this course are all logistic profiles in supervisor or activity management positions with MSF work experience of at least six months. 


CERTIFICATION 

At the end of the course, you will receive a badge. To achieve thisbadge, you must follow all the modules until the end.
