About this course

This online self-paced Induction in French and English targets OCP Medical Coordinators (MedCo) and deputy MedCo as part of their onboarding process for the position. It presents OCP Departments, their key activities and advisors, while focusing on MedCo’s role through tailored key messages. The overall purpose of this Induction is to facilitate their first mission by familiarising them with the support and resources available at headquarters.

Target audience

This Induction targets primarily OCP MedCo and deputy MedCo. Secondary targets are other OCP profiles (MedRef, PharmaCo, Head Nurse, Head of Mission, etc.) who would like to know more about OCP medical activities, institutional priorities, commitments and resources.

Duration

Participants should commit twelve hours if they would like to complete all the modules of OCP MedCo Induction. Three of these modules (“Survival Kit” identified with the word *ESSENTIAL*) are strongly recommended and expected to be completed before going on mission. To complete the “Survival Kit”, participants are expected to commit one hour. It is recommended to target those modules for which the participant has less experience first, or those relating to an upcoming assignment.

Learning objectives

The MedCo Induction is not a training, thus there are no learning objectives. After completing this Induction, participants will be able to confidently explain their role in relation to the medical and non-medical activities introduced. Participants will also be able to identify headquarters advisors to get in touch with in each OCP department and for each key activity of the medical department.

Methodology

This Induction comprises over 50 modules organised in 9 thematic sections. It uses mainly text, images and videos, with few modules featuring audios, case studies and quizzes. It is strongly recommended to MedCo and deputy MedCo to complete the “Survival kit” (3 modules annotated as *ESSENTIAL*) before going on mission, but there is no particular order to complete the Induction.

Evaluation

Participants will not be assessed considering that it is not a training course. However, we will compile their feedback through a Satisfaction Questionnaire in order to improve the Induction when it will be updated.

The Induction is to be completed on a computer or laptop. Internet connection would be required to access the online resources and to open the links included in this Induction. We recommend to avoid using Firefox browser for completing this Induction because of display issues.
