HR Foundation

About this course

The HR Foundation is an intersectional course dedicated to first time HR Coordinators of all MSF OCs. It covers the roles and specificities of the position and the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to be efficient HR Coordinators.

Target audience

  • HR Coordinators/Fin HRCOs in their first assignment..
  • Deputy HRCOs and Deputy Fin HRCOs.
  • HR Managers with a concrete project to become HRCOs.

OCB, OCP, OCG, OCBA, OCA

Duration

58 hours over 6 months. 
16 hours in the self-paced Tembo course (4 hrs x 4 modules), and 42 hours virtual classes (approx. 10 hours per module and the course conclusion session).

Learning objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • organise efficient HR Management in their mission, aligning operational needs with environmental constraints and MSF values as “Responsible Employers.”. 

List of contents

  • Module 1 is dedicated to MSF structure, visions, and roles 
  • Module 2 is dedicated to compensations, and benefits 
  • Module 3 is dedicated to legal framework management 
  • Module 4 is dedicated to HR Strategy, HR needs calculation, the organisational chart, and HR change management 
  • Concluding session: “Putting the HRF into action” dedicated to the application of the learning on the job. 

Methodology

Participants first learn and integrate theory in the eLearning by watching videos, reading texts, and doing short interactive exercises. They then apply this theory to case studies, working with their peers, in the virtual classes.

Evaluation

Participants' success is evaluated through the completion of all eLearning activities and the active participation in the modules’ classes and course concluding session.

Certification

Participants will receive a module badge upon completion of all module eLearning activities, and attendance to each module classes. Participants will be awarded a course badge and a course certificate if they complete all modules.
