About the Course

How to improve quality of care together? Discover this all-staff (medical AND non-medical!) course to make our MSF activities better for all our patients in the field!

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

All MSF staff, medical and non-medical. Module 1 is for all to take in their first 6 months with MSF.

Learning Objectives

The course has the objective of giving all staff in MSF an introduction about quality of care, explaining the reason why MSF needs to work on this topic and how it can be measured.

Quality care for the people we support - why does MSF push for it? How do we approach it and who should be responsible?

After completing the course, participants will be able to

  • Know what MSF Quality of care vision and definition are
  • List the 7 dimensions of care and can describe why they are important
  • Identify the 3 categories that are part of the Donabedian model and describe activities that are part of each of them
  • Articulate MSF’s commitment to quality of care and quality improvement and understands that MSF looks at quality as primordial but also needing adaptation to different contexts and project life cycles
  • Verbalize the importance of the learning and non-blaming aspects of a quality culture.
  • Define Change Management, knowing that QI can take time – especially when improving processes.
  • Describe how to give feed-back to a team: How (behavior and visual aids), what, where and when
