About the Course

This is an introductory course to the HMIS (Health Information Management System), an application based on DHIS2. 

In this course, you will get a brief description of HMIS and its main features. HMIS is a tool that captures, stores, and manages health data. HMIS was deployed in MSF OCBA in 2015. Since then, HMIS has been implemented in all the regular projects and it is also used in emergency interventions.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone interested in learning more about MSF-OCBA HMIS, especially medical and non-medical personnel working with health data such as:

- Medical profiles: PMR, NAM, MAM, MedCo, TESACO, Data Manager, Epidemiologists, Data Encoders.

- Operational profiles: FieldCo, HoM, RECO

Training approach

The HMIS introductory course enables you to learn about HMIS (Health Management Information System) by going through different learning modules.

Each module addresses different issues of HMIS. You can build your own learning path by selecting the HMIS learning modules that best fit your profile, your job activity, or your interests.

All modules are self-learning, which means that you can do the activities by yourself, without the support of a teacher. However, you will find open communication channels to be used in case you have doubts about doing the activities, also for you to share your thoughts or ideas about the course.

Evaluation and Certification

Completing the training entitles you to the HMIS certificate. We remind you that to complete each module, and therefore the training, you will have to complete ALL the activities.

Learners will be able to download a Certificate once they have completed the course.

Module 4: Data Analysis

module students will be able to:
