About the course
The Buddy programme e-learning course was developed to train Buddies to orient new employees with onboarding and sharing of knowledge in an informal and casual manner through workplace friendships. This 30 minute training will equip the Buddy with the skills to be able to guide the new employee through the first few weeks or months on the job and thereby raise the levels of employee engagement for both the new and existing employees alike.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- identify the roles and responsibilities of a buddy,
- acclimatise to the new environment,
- identify expectations of the relationship,
- assess whether the objectives of the relationship have been achieved,
- self-reflect and assess the relationship for self-improvement,
- identify what not to do in a buddy relationship,
- identify how to conduct a buddy relationship,
- identify their roles and responsibilities as buddies,
- share challenges and good practice,
- support one another.
