Instructional Design CPD

About the course

Instructional Design CPD serves as the pre-reflection and follow-up space to the weekly 45-minute-long workshops offered to OCB LnD staff aimed at developing the foundations of instructional design, together with all the issues surrounding the creation of efficient learning experiences.  

Target audience

The workshops would be primarily aimed at LnD staff responsible for the creation of digital learning experiences, although anyone willing to learn about instructional design and Totara’s functionalities at large would also greatly benefit from attending.  

Validation

This CPD offer is only validated for OCB LnD staff members. 

Duration

Work will vary depending on the theme and nature of the workshop, although this should never exceed 1h per workshop. 

Learning objectives

At the end of the course, participants should be able to design efficient student-centred digital learning experiences, with a strong focus on meeting the needs of learners across the movement.

    • June 14 – designing activities on Tembo 
    • June 21 – embracing disability - disability awareness for learning
    • June 28 – accessibility for inclusive online learning (WCAG)
    • July 5 –  developing and/or translating a course on Tembo 
    • July 12 – universal design for learning (UDL) 
    • July 19 – understanding learner variability 
    • July 26 – reports 

Methodology

Weekly 45-minute-long workshops. pre-workshop questionnaires and/or readings, and post-workshop materials, together with engagement in a new Teams Channel devoted to sharing best practices. 

Evaluation

At the end of each module there will be a quiz linked to the workshop, and to the materials provided. 80% success in each quiz is required to be awarded certification.

Certification

Upon completing all activities on Tembo and attending every 10-workshop series, participants will be awarded a badge and a certificate. 

Enrolment

An enrolment key to the course will be provided to the participants who attend the CPD workshops, and shared in the Teams Channel linked to this learning offer.
