About the course

Wound Care Online Orientation will allow users to practise selecting the appropriate steps and procedures when caring for different patients with various wounds, following the same structured approach and the basic key principles as presented in the protocol.

The content of the “Wound Care Orientation Module” is aimed at nurses, medical doctors and other (para)medical health care professionals involved in wound care.

Learning objectives

The “OCB Wound Care Protocol” and its companion online orientation module aim to guide health care workers in the treatment of most wounds encountered in the field, using the same approach for all different types. This will make it easier for paramedical staff, including nurses and nurse-aid, as well as doctors, to perform wound care in any context if the materials are available.

Methodology

Self-paced eLearning Activity with additional resources.

Evaluation

Pre-requisites

Being involved in wound care. Prerequisites are having read the protocol, having already done a residential training or having received a full briefing by trained staff.
