About the course
The Activity Independence Measure - Trauma (AIM-T) is a practical tool allowing healthcare professionals to evaluate independence of a patient after injury, in key daily life activities. The AIM-T was developed in 2011 by MSF and Handicap International - Humanity & Inclusion (HI) in a trauma center in Afghanistan, and has since then been revised and validated in other humanitarian settings.
The AIM-T course will enable learners to use the measure AIM-T correctly and apply it within their trauma care practice. It is aimed at any healthcare professional working with patients after injury, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
Target audience
This course is primarily for healthcare professionals working clinically within trauma projects. This course may also benefit medical managers as well as data managers working within trauma projects.
Validation
This course is validated by OCB.
Duration
This course will take you approximatively 4h30 to complete, although you may do the modules one at a time (and not all at once) at your own pace.

List of contents
This course is divided into the three following modules:
Module 1: This 30-minute course will introduce the AIM-T and its development process.
Module 2: This 3-hour module focuses on how to use the AIM-T, presenting its 12 activities and scoring system.
Module 3: This 1-hour module focuses on practical applications of the AIM-T using a case study approach.
Methodology
Self-paced, interactive online course. Practical exercises are at the core of the course.
Evaluation
To complete the entire course you need to complete Module 1, Module 2 and Module 3.
Certification
You will obtain a badge after completion of each module. Also, a certificate will be issued upon completion of the 3 Modules.
