This course will explore interpersonal communication skills. It is an on-line e-learning self-paced course by OCBA medical department. The course is in English. The aim of the course is to learn about the importance of communication in our work, address key points for communicating well and learn how to apply some communication skills at work. The course is aimed at all field staff. Medical staff (doctors, nurses, MHPSS are advised to complete the communication skills for providing care to patients and families module, which is more focused on clinical care).
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is for all field staff who wish to improve the way they communicate with colleagues, community members and partners. The primary target is non-medical staff who encounter challenging communication scenarios in their daily work.
DURATION
This course should take approximately 1 hour to complete.
METHODOLOGY
Self-paced online course.
EVALUATION
To pass this course learners will have to do three quizzes.
CERTIFICATION
After successful completion of this course, participants will receive a certificate and a digital badge awarded by MSF OCBA.
Objectifs d'apprentissage
At the end of this course, participants should be able to explain what communication is and why it is important, outline some key rules for good communication and describe and use 3 communication skills: active listening, use of silence, responding with empathy.
