Healthcare Facility Management (HFM)

About the Course

This training covers key concepts related to the management of healthcare facilities including identifying and addressing health and safety risks plus continuous maintenance and monitoring of activities. There is an online session (3 hours) plus self-learning tasks before and after the live session (3-4 hours). The module is owned by OCA and co-facilitation is done by OCB.

Enrolment

This is for staff in the position of Hospital Facility Manager, Logistics/ Techlog Manager and other interested positions. The module focuses on colleagues at the beginning of their MSF career (6 months experience in the role), or first time managing a Healthcare Facility. Enrollment for this module is for staff from all OC's, though there is limited space available. Please contact Janet.Vlug@amsterdam.msf.org for any doubt.

Certification

A badge will be issued on completion of the course.

Evaluation

Assignment after the online session to make the link of the learning and application in their workplace.

Target Audience

Hospital Facilities Managers and Logistics manager positions in charge of hospitals or healthcare facilities (logistics manager of hospital structures and logistics supervisor) at the start of their MSF career (6 months of experience in the position).

Duration

Total study time 6- 7 hours. Live online and a homework pre-, and post-course assignment

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, the participants should be able to;

  • Explain in their own words the concept of HFM
  • Identify and use appropriately the available tools, guidance and standards related to their responsibilities in HFM
  • Describe the minimum requirements you need when managing your hospital and justify the importance of these for MSF
