Instructional Design

About the Course

Instructional Design is a tutored hands-on course for MSF staff responsible for the design of learning objects. The instructional design process will be broken down and participants will practise and receive feedback on the work they will create throughout the process. 


Target Audience

This course is aimed at any MSF staff member in need to lead, manage or design an online or blended learning course.


Learning Objectives

  • Identify the key stages of the process of instructional design
  • Explore the advantages and disadvantages of synchronous and asynchronous eLearning
  • Conduct needs and audience analyses
  • Analyse learning styles
  • Determine whether eLearning is the appropriate solution for their needs
  • Define clear learning outcomes
  • Develop effective assessment tools
  • Design and develop the blueprint of their course
  • Select the most appropriate design model for their course
  • Select appropriate eLearning tools
  • Design effective learning experiences using user-centred principles and methodologies
  • Apply Kirkpatrick’s Four-level Training Evaluation Model to eLearning courses
