Newborn Breathing Difficulties: Virtual Class

About the Course

This session complements the MSF e-learning module ‘breathing difficulties in newborn’ and centres around clinical cases of newborns presenting breathing difficulties. This is a virtual classroom for medically-trained staff in which we will explore a deeper understanding of clinical presentations, pathophysiology and radiologic images. Your diagnostic reasoning and approach to management is explored through the clinical cases. You will also have the opportunity to discuss interesting or complex cases that you have encountered in your clinical practice.

Computer with internet access is required.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Practice and broaden the differential diagnosis of the main respiratory pathologies of the newborn.
  • Complete knowledge about clinical presentation, physiopathology and radiologic images of these pathologies.
  • Propose the most appropriate management of these main respiratory pathologies of the newborn.

The virtual class is intended for clinical officers and medical doctors working in MSF and caring for newborn. Learners have successfully completed the e-learning module Newborn care - Breathing difficulties.
