Karibu

About the Course-

Karibu means Welcome! in Swahili.

The KARIBU Training is the logical continuation to the Welcome to MSF (WtMSF) course. In the WtMSF you have seen aspects related with the MSF Movement and in the KARIBU you will go through the particularities of MSF Operational Center Barcelona-Athens (MSF OCBA) and their strategic orientations.

Karibu is a blended program that has three complementary and mandatory parts:

This is the Online self-paced training part with reading activities, videos, quizzes and forums. This training is the Baseline for the virtual or F2F sessions where will be consolidated the goals achieved in this part.


Who is this course for?

People coming from different HQ departments, with or without field experience. Although the KARIBU is not an Induction course, it may be particularly relevant to new people in the organization or people who may have missed some formal induction training.


Duration of course: 5h

Training approach:

The Karibu is a blended program that has three complementary and mandatory parts:

·       Welcome Session it’s a virtual session (1.5h) to collect expectative and inform of steps and exercises to be done online one week before Life Sessions

·       Online self-paced training in Tembo with  reading activities, videos, quizzes and forums. Baseline for the virtual sessions or F2F sessions (5 h)

·       Live Sessions (Virtual or F2F) to consolidate  concepts  and  share  experiences  and raise questions by using group exercises, open discussions, quizzes and a case study.


o   Virtual Sessions  Online of  1,5  hours  during 5 consecutive days  (7.5 hours)

Or

o   F2F Session in a full day  (7.5 h)


Certification:

When you finish and complete the activities you will get a badge.

Learning Objectives

KARIBU provides a chance to learn more about MSF field challenges and activities, the way that MSF works and is organized and of course about principles and values. The aim is to strengthen staff identification and commitment with the organization and to make MSF staff able to act as MSF Ambassadors internally (eg, with their colleagues) and externally (partners, providers, family and friends.)
