BASIC LR Nurse COVID-19 (Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive care in Low Resources ) (OCP)

About this course

At the end of the course participants will be able to recognise and manage critically ill patients in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This course will cover the ABCDE approach, the use of PPE and the specificity of care in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This course has been designed by the BASIC Collaboration (Chinese University of Hong-Kong) and MSF.

Target audience

This e-learning BASIC LR for nurse COVID-19  is designed for nurses managing critical ill patients or COVID-19 patients in MSF settings.

Duration

This course will take approximatively 10 hours to complete. 

Learning objectives

The objective is that course participants can safely and correctly manage a patient with COVID-19

List of contents

This course will take you through specificities of COVID-19 patients:
  • COVID-19 and Infection Prevention Control (IPC)
  • Pre-screening and ABCDE introduction
  • Airway management 
  • Breathing management (inclued classification COVID-19 patient)
  • Circulation 
  • Disability
  • Exposure (including palliative care and prevention bedrest complication)
