About the Course

To empower key mission staff, holding or on the way to take coordination positions and/or managerial tasks on Emergency. Renforcer les capacités de réponses aux urgences des personnes clés de la mission, coordinateurs ou personnes susceptibles de prendre des responsabilités de coordination et/ou d’encadrement. ERT aims at developing a strategic approach amongst field members in charge of strategic decision making regarding emergencies. The students of the ERT Program will focus on strategies, not technicalities: La formation Réponse aux Urgences a pour but de développer la capacité d’approche stratégique des personnes qui auront à prendre les décisions clés en cas d’urgence. Durant la formation, les participants travailleront la stratégie, non la technique afin de: ERT aims at developing a strategic approach amongst field members in charge of strategic decision making regarding emergencies. The students of the ERT Program will focus on strategies, not technicalities:

The course is addressed to those staff fulfilling at present or in the next future (in less than 1 year) roles and responsibilities of decision making and/or coordination regarding 1) alert detection and management, 2) emergency exploratory missions and rapid assessments, and 3) emergency intervention design, planning and management. La formation s’adresse à des personnes remplissant, ou susceptible de remplir sous un an, des fonctions de coordination ou de prises de décisions en cas de 1) détection ou gestion d’une alerte, 2) mission exploratoire et de rapide identification des besoins, et 3) élaboration, planification et gestion d’une urgence. The course is addressed to those staff fulfilling at present or in the next future (in less than 1 year) roles and responsibilities of decision making and/or coordination regarding 1) alert detection and management, 2) emergency exploratory missions and rapid assessments, and 3) emergency intervention design, planning and management.


By coordination we mean emergency intervention coordination (line manager at field or capital level responsible for the intervention) or coordination of components/programs and teams in an emergency intervention (i.e. Medical or Logistics Team Leaders, Nutritional Program Responsible, Outreach Activities Responsible, Refugee Camp focal person, etc. at field level, and capital positions with managing/supporting tasks as MedCos, LogCos, and their deputies and assistants). Par coordinateurs, nous entendons des personnes qui interviennent dans la coordination d’intervention d’urgences (Superviseurs terrain ou capitale responsable de l’intervention) ou coordinateurs de programmes/d’activités et d’équipes (responsable de l’équipe médicale ou logistique, responsable nutrition, responsable clinique mobiles, camps de réfugiés, etc. sur le terrain. En capital, il s’agit des coordinateurs qui appuient l’intervention, MedCo, LogCo, ainsi que leurs adjoints et assistants.) The above mentioned are the first priority targeted staff. If maximum number of participants is not filled with them, other no priority profiles that can attend the course (never exceeding more than 20% of the total participants) are: Les personnes mentionnées ci-dessus sont la priorité numéro 1.
