Course Description and main Objetive

The monitoring that we do in the field is often done with the help of tools,but observation and team discussions are an important part of the monitoring too. 

The aim of this course is the acknowledgment and the understanding what a Sentinel system is and how it contributes to improved quality of care.

Medical System List: An MSL is a list of articles that are essential for the optimal running of the medical program in the field, validated for use, and to be kept available at all times. The combination of the different articles associated with the different medical activities within a project makes the project MSL. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course you should be able to:

• Explain what a Sentinel system is and how it contributes to improved quality of care 

• Recognize who to involve in setting up a sentinel system for your project  

• Identify barriers and plan actions to prepare the sentinel system implementation in a project  

• Identify articles + indicators likable to be followed through this system  

• Ability to create a sentinel system proposal for your project 

• Interpretate the results and propose corrective / preventive actions

Through a practical case study, participants will discover and learn the 5 steps to set up a sentinel system for medical items to create one for their projects.
